When you call and ask about in-home music lessons the first thing we do is to ask about you or your child’s musical goals. We are interested in their learning style and personality. Unlike with most music schools, at Hey Joe Guitar Music School, in the beginning, you’ll speak with our director and founder, Joe Berger. After you and Joe speak, he will set you up with a professional music teacher ~ someone who is a great match for you and someone who will help you meet your learning goals. Joe takes a personal interest in each and every one of our students. He recruits teachers from the top music schools like Columbia University, The Manhattan School of Music, and Berklee College of Music. Your lessons can be structured and intense or fun and playful — or somewhere in between. A Teacher Comes to You
Once a student is registered a teacher is assigned to them and that teacher will provide private music lessons in the safety and comfort of their home. Our music teachers travel anywhere in Manhattan and throughout most of Brooklyn. The music teacher who is assigned to you can be available (depending on everyone’s schedule) seven days a week, at any reasonable hour. A student will let us know how much teaching time they want, and we will do our best to tailor a plan that’s just right for each and every student. Meet Your Teachers

Our Nonprofit in New York City
Our nonprofit organization, MusiCan, brings music programs to schoolchildren in New York’s economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. Hey Joe Guitar donates a portion of its proceeds from every music lesson to MusiCan. And it also contributes its own best teachers.
