What is your teaching philosophy?

My job as a teacher is to find what inspires and excites the student. I used that energy to help them push through more difficult concepts like music theory. I’m all about making music accessible to everyone.

In your opinion, what is the right way to teach and what do you do in your lessons that makes you a good teacher?

Music is fun and music is playful. A good teacher keeps that playfulness as a thread through all lessons.

How many years have you been teaching music lessons?

What are you most proud of in your musical career?

I’m proud of playing on the stage and creating music with my musical friends.

What’s the best compliment you have ever gotten as a music teacher?

My favorite review said that I allow the student to express their own sense of musicality.

What country have you traveled to that you like the most and why?

Costa Rica was very cool! The hot springs were amazing

What languages do you speak?

English

If you could perform with any musician (alive or dead), who would it be and why?

Mac Demarco. It would be a kick to play with him.

Do you have any interesting or unusual hobbies? If so, tell us about it.

Paddleboarding. I haven’t tried it yet in the Hudson River!

What are you currently listening to on the radio, iPod, iTunes, Spotify, etc.?

The Wilco album “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” is running through my head.
